Notes from our first practice…
Our first practice has come and gone - what a day! It’s so good to be back in the water!!! To help the coaches properly train your swimmer(s) please keep the following tips in mind before coming to practice:
1. Don’t forget your goggles!!! Goggles are just as important to swimming as a baseball player needing a glove. If you can’t see where you are swimming, how can you swim fast?
2. Make sure your swimmer(s) eat breakfast before coming to the practice. They work hard while in the water and need fuel to keep them going.
3. A big warm towel to wrap up in after getting out of the water.
4. We ask our female swimmers to wear a one piece bathing suit for training.
5. The older swimmers especially should bring their own bottle of water to keep on deck for in between swim sets. Bottles should have a cap and the swimmers name clearly marked on the bottle.
6. If your swimmer is feeling under the weather, please stay home.
7. We provide equipment (kickboard, fins, pull buoy) for our swimmers to use during practice. If you bring your own, please make sure it has your swimmers name clearly marked and carry it in a bag.
Some other important info:
- If you haven’t already picked up your free swim cap with registration, they are under the swim shelter.
- Fundraiser tickets can be picked up under the shelter. We ask every family to sell 10 tickets for $10 each or there is a $50 buyout option. Tickets are due back by June 27th. You must sell all 10 tickets if you choose to sell them. -
- Apparel order deadline is extended to noon on 6/8 due to the confusion with suit sizes. We are also missing suits from the sizing kit after practice today. If you took home a team suit from practice please bring it back tomorrow. We will order suits on 6/8 and will be passed out before our first home meet.
- A necklace was found on deck after practice today. If it was yours, come to the swim shelter to inquire. You must know what four letter word that was on the chain.
Thank you to all of the swim families who came out today, we will look forward to seeing you for the rest of the season.
